Description:
Seeking a board-certified OB/GYN physician for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Ketchikan, Alaska. This position offers approximately one week of coverage per month, combining daytime clinic hours with 24-hour call responsibilities.
The assignment includes inpatient and outpatient care, labor and delivery coverage, and a full scope of general OB/GYN services. A second OB/GYN is available for call coverage support.
Job Responsibilities
Provide inpatient rounding and admissions.
Provide 24-hour call coverage for labor and delivery and emergency department needs.
Assist with hospital emergencies when needed during clinic hours.
Provide full-scope general OB/GYN services.
Support labor and delivery coverage and patient care.
Qualifications
Active Alaska medical license required, or willingness and ability to obtain one promptly.
Epic charting experience required.
BLS certification.
24 months of case logs required.
Must be comfortable providing both inpatient and outpatient care.
Working Hours
Clinic: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
Weekday call coverage, including 24-hour availability while assigned to clinic coverage.
Weekend coverage includes 24-hour Saturday and Sunday call.
Call assignments may involve 2–3 consecutive days, with clinic coverage between call stretches.
Ongoing coverage need through 2027; current approval through April 23, 2027.
