Position & Coverage Details

• 24-hour in-house coverage.

• Two-clinician coverage model: one physician and one midwife scheduled for all 24-hour shifts.

• Hospitalists provide backup support to midwives.

• Backup is available to hospitalists through the midwife team.

• Hospitalists do not provide backup coverage for Family Practice.

• Hospitalists provide both OB and GYN coverage.

Patient Volume & Clinical Details

• Approximately 272 deliveries per month hospital-wide.

• Estimated 140 deliveries per month managed by the hospitalist team.

• Average estimated monthly hospitalist patient encounters: 949.

• Approximately 37.7% of encounters involve high-risk diagnoses.

• GYN accounts for 52.7% of surgeries at this site.

Hospital Resources & Support

• Level III NICU on-site.

• Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) on-site.

• In-house anesthesia coverage.

• First-assist support available to hospitalists; physicians are not required to perform first-assist procedures.

• Circumcisions are not required.
