Great location and position opportunity for OBGYN near Greenville North Carolina! Academic medical center. 950+ bed hospital. While our primary emphasis is caring for patients, we are all on the faculty of our local medical school and teach and operate with OB/Gyn residents and medical students. We have Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gyn Oncology and REI consultants readily available .Call is 1:6 weekdays/weekends.
Greenville is a rapidly growing college town with a population of about 95,000, a rejuvenated Uptown filled with restaurants and shops. Located in eastern North Carolina, the economy and culture of Greenville are dominated by the presence of East Carolina University and Vidant Health. ECU is a 29,000-student campus within the University of North Carolina system. The college provides access to college sports with an active and engaged fan base. The music and performing arts departments are popular, and every year there are numerous high-quality musical and theatrical productions involving both ECU faculty and distinguished visiting performers. Greenville boasts outdoor activities such as a recreation trail within the city limits along the Tar River, for biking, running, and walking. At Town Common, there is a recently renovated children's park with a summer concert series.
Perhaps most convenient is its location and excellent cost of living. It is approximately 80 miles east of Raleigh and 80 miles west of Atlantic Beach. Many members of the Greenville medical community have vacation homes or condominiums at the beach. In addition, the large rivers and estuaries of eastern North Carolina are nearby and are ideal for all types of boating and water sports.
