Description
Noor Locums is seeking a Board-Certified OB/GYN physician for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Ketchikan, Alaska.
Looking for a flexible schedule? This position requires approximately one week of coverage per month, combining outpatient clinic hours with 24-hour labor and delivery and emergency department call. The physician will work alongside an established OB/GYN team, with another OB/GYN available on call 24/7.
Coverage: ASAP through April 23, 2027, with ongoing coverage expected.
Clinical Environment

Critical access hospital setting.

Approximately 25 beds, including 5 labor and delivery beds.

Primarily adult patients, with pediatric and geriatric patients also seen.

Average daily clinic volume of approximately 10 patients.

Another OB/GYN is available on call 24/7.

Inpatient and outpatient services are located within the same building.
Job Responsibilities
See approximately 10 clinic patients per day.
Provide inpatient and outpatient care.
Manage labor and delivery patients and provide 24-hour L&D call.
Respond to emergency department and hospital calls.
Perform hospital rounding and admissions.
Provide gynecological and obstetric care, including emergency evaluations.
Assist with scheduled surgeries when another surgeon or first assist is needed.
Document patient care using EPIC.
Qualifications
Active Alaska medical license required for the position; physicians must be willing to obtain an Alaska license promptly.
BLS certification required.
EPIC charting experience required.
Must provide case logs covering the previous 24 months.
Must be comfortable with full-scope OB/GYN practice and inpatient responsibilities.
Must be available for approximately one week per month.
Working Hours
Call: Approximately 7 days of first- or second-call coverage per month.
Weekday call: 24-hour availability for labor and delivery and emergency department coverage.
Weekend call: 24-hour Saturday and Sunday coverage.
Call may be scheduled in 2–3-day blocks, with clinic coverage between call stretches.
0–2 labor and delivery patients daily.
No fixed surgical schedule; full-scope OB/GYN coverage is required.
