Locums | OB/GYN Generalist | Foley, AL (AL License or IMLC Required) Why This Role

  • Ongoing hospital-based coverage beginning December 2026
  • Up to 10 days of coverage available per month
  • Flexible scheduling in blocks of at least three consecutive days
  • Temporary privileges available
  • Robotic gynecologic surgery experience preferred
Assignment Details Start: December 1, 2026 End: Ongoing Setting: Inpatient hospital coverage only Coverage: Up to 10 days per month Minimum commitment: Three consecutive days One weekend block required Department: 26 beds Average volume: Approximately six patients per shift Annual deliveries: Approximately 720 Trauma designation: Level III EMR: Cerner Schedule / Call 24-hour beeper call Weekend block: Friday at 7:00 a.m.–Monday at 7:00 a.m. Up to six hours of onsite rounding during each 24-hour shift Call response time: 30 minutes Approximately 7–10 phone consultations per shift Approximately one to two admissions per shift Estimated callback rate: 30% Clinical Scope Round on assigned and unassigned patients Accept attached, emergency-department, and underserved patients Manage low- and high-risk pregnancies Interpret fetal heart-rate monitoring Perform and interpret Level I and Level II obstetric ultrasound Perform amniocentesis Manage routine and complicated deliveries Perform vaginal, operative vaginal, breech, multiple, VBAC, abruption, and cesarean deliveries Repair third- and fourth-degree lacerations Manage gynecologic emergencies through the ED Perform open, laparoscopic, and major operative gynecologic procedures Robotic gynecologic surgery experience preferred Support Five RNs Family Medicine residents participate in required ACGME delivery experiences during night float Residents are not the delivering providers No APP supervision required Requirements Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN Active Alabama license or IMLC pathway Active ACLS Active BLS Active PALS Must perform the full required obstetric and gynecologic scope Must provide at least three consecutive coverage days Must cover at least one Friday–Monday weekend block Robotic gynecologic surgery experience preferred Credentialing Estimated timeframe: Approximately 30 days Temporary privileges available
