Job description
A Level III trauma teaching hospital in Petersburg, Virginia needs a locum OB/GYN for 24-hour call coverage on December 17 through 24 and December 31, with ongoing coverage possible after that. Call runs 7a to 7a, one in four, with about 20 clinic patients on the schedule alongside it. Travel is covered.
Pay is $2,808.00 per 24-hour call day and $4,212.00 for holiday 24-hour call. Clinic time pays $217.50 an hour. The first 10 hours of callback are unpaid gratis hours already built into the daily rate, and callback after that pays $326.25 an hour. Callbacks average less than one per 24-hour shift, and the answering service screens the calls.
Temporary privileges are possible for providers with a clean file.

Job Responsibilities
- See about 20 patients in clinic on the schedule
- Work alongside an OBHG hospitalist, with a laborist covering unreferred patients and MFM handling most high-risk patients
- 9 L&D beds and 20 postpartum beds, 2 to 3 nursery admissions a day, 3 to 4 nurses each shift, surgical assistants, Epic
Qualifications
- Active Virginia license, plus active Virginia DEA and CSR
- BLS and ACLS
- 50 deliveries in the last 12 months, at least 15 of them C-sections
- Clean background and malpractice history
- Available for every listed date
