This opportunity involves working collaboratively with local obstetricians to ensure that every pregnant woman who presents to the hospital is cared for by an experienced physician every time. We are seeking OB/GYNs with exceptional clinical and communication skills, a passion for healthcare quality improvement, and a desire to shape the future of our specialty.

About Doctors Hospital Of Augusta

Doctors Hospital of Augusta is a 354-bed, full-service acute care hospital operated by HCA Healthcare, offering maternity care with an on-site level II NICU and maternal-fetal medicine program. The hospital holds CMS's Birthing-Friendly designation and is one of only a few Baby-Friendly USA–designated hospitals in Georgia, reflecting recognized best practices in maternity and breastfeeding care. They see an average of 1,400 deliveries a year.

Site Director - We are also searching for a site director at this location if you are interested in leadership opportunities. A unique opportunity to combine clinical practice with meaningful leadership and program development. This hands-on leadership role blends active OB hospitalist care with oversight of program quality, team performance, and strategic collaboration with hospital leadership, nursing, and the local OB community.

This position offers:

  • 21+ days off per month

  • No clinic or on-call

  • Competitive compensation package with productivity bonuses

  • Comprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, vision, malpractice with tail, CME, retirement with employer match

  • Sign-on bonus

  • Flexible scheduling

  • Paid malpractice insurance with tail

The hospitalist model allows you to focus entirely on the patient. You can help correct a disparity of care by ensuring that all pregnant women who present to the hospital are evaluated by an experienced physician rather than funneled through the conventional nurse-led phone triage.

As an OBHG clinician you are the in-house expert, serving as the maternal safety champion of the entire labor and delivery unit. You'll improve patient safety, reduce maternal mortality rates and help alleviate physician burnout. A typical work day might include collaborating with local private-practice OB/GYNs, assisting with emergent cases, caring for unassigned patients, overseeing residents or meeting with hospital leaders to design a new quality initiative.
