Job description

Job description A hospital in the Santa Rosa, CA area needs a Board Certified OB/GYN for its OB hospitalist program, covering 24-hour in-house shifts (8a to 8a) starting this November and continuing on an ongoing basis, 5-10 shifts a month with both weekday and weekend shifts. Pay is $269.50 per hour, and travel is covered. A call room is provided on campus, and UCSF is available for consult 24/7. This is OB hospitalist coverage only, with no office work.

Job Responsibilities

Cover labor and delivery, the emergency department, and inpatient consults for OB and GYN patients. Back up family medicine and CNM vaginal deliveries, perform c-sections, and respond to obstetric emergencies. Physicians average about 364 deliveries a year. Support team includes 7 RNs and 5 PA/NPs.

Qualifications

Board Certified in OB/GYN. Active California license (California only, IMLC does not apply). DEA required. Clean file required: no settlements, DUIs or drug issues, restrictions, terminations, or medical board actions. Current CV and 24 months of relevant activity, with references on standby. Temporary privileges are available for clean files, and credentialing runs about 30 days.

Working Hours

24-hour in-house shifts, 8a to 8a. November 20-21, 23-24, and 29. December 11-13, 18, 20-22, 26, and 28-31. January dates will be set by the end of October. Ongoing need of 5-10 shifts a month, weekdays and weekends. Take one shift or many, and the site prefers a provider who can fill as many dates as possible.

Skills

Labor and delivery, c-sections, obstetric emergencies, OB/GYN consults in the ED and inpatient units, and backup for family medicine and CNM deliveries. Epic EMR. Level II trauma hospital, stroke certified.
