Physician - Obstetrics / Gynecology - Laborist in California

Opportunity Highlights

• Schedule: Start Date: 9/18/2026; Ongoing. Provider availability needed in December and moving forward to support ongoing coverage needs. Allowed Holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.
• Job Setting: Inpatient; Call Only (Beeper). Call Ratio: 1:4. Call Response Time: 7 minutes. Call Back: 25%. Patients Per Shift: 10-15. Average deliveries per year: 150. Admissions required.
• Types of Cases:
  • Obstetrics: Low risk pregnancy (Required), High risk pregnancy (Preferred), FHR interpretation - NST/CST/FSE (Required), OB Ultrasounds - performance and interpretation (Required): Level I/Screening - viability (Required), Level II/Targeted - anatomic (Preferred)
  • Deliveries - Routine: Vaginal (Required), Low forceps (Required), Decision-making for C-section (Required)
  • Deliveries - Complicated: C-section (Required), Breech (Required), Multiple births (Preferred), Abruptions (Required)
  • Other OB: Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations (Required)
  • Gynecology - Office/Minor: IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, Cryosurgery, LEEP (Required)
  • Gynecology - Surgical: Open (Required), Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor - tubal ligation, LOA's, chronal tubation (Required), Operative/major - ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOA's (Required)
  • Not Required: Amniocentesis, VBAC's, Laser certification
• EMR System: Cerner
• Credentialing: Estimated credentialing timeframe: 30-60 days. Temporary privileges are not available. Malpractice insurance provided by vendor.

Minimum Requirements

• Board Certified/Board Eligible: Board Certified required
• Certifications: BLS (Required), PALS (Required)
• Licensure: Active California medical license required (MD). IMLC not accepted. Licensing cost reimbursement not available.
