Job description

A hospital in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area, with a Level III trauma center and NICU, needs an OB/GYN for primary night and weekend call coverage, starting in January 2027. The coverage is ongoing, up to 3 weeks a month. Offsite pager call pays $2,079 a night and $3,465 for a 24-hour weekend shift, with callbacks at $325 an hour. Travel and lodging are reimbursed.

Job Responsibilities

Primary offsite call for a team of 3 hospital OB/GYNs: admitting and seeing antepartum patients, managing labor and delivery, seeing GYN emergency department consults, performing emergent GYN surgeries, rounding each day, and covering backup call for the OB hospitalist group. The hospital averages about 60 deliveries a month with 12 labor and delivery beds, a fully staffed L&D nursing team, an obstetric ED, ultrasound and lab on site, and in-house anesthesia. Epic EMR. Required procedures include low and high-risk obstetrics, FHR interpretation, routine and complicated deliveries (C-section, breech, multiples, abruptions), VBACs, repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations, surgical gynecology (ectopic, ovary removal, cystectomy), suction D&C, and management of cesarean complications including hysterectomy.

Qualifications

Board certified in OB/GYN with an OB/GYN residency. An active Colorado license, or an IMLC letter of qualification in hand. A clean malpractice record and a self-query NPDB pulled within the last month. ACLS, BLS, and NRP, and a transferable DEA, are highly preferred. Providers must cover the full stint and stay for its duration. Local or drive-in physicians are strongly preferred. Epic training is completed before your first day, and credentialing takes 90 to 120 days, with no temporary privileges, so start the paperwork early.

Working Hours

Weeknight call Monday to Thursday, 5pm to 7am, and weekend call from Friday 5pm to Monday 7am. Ongoing, up to 3 weeks a month. The first 2 hours of callbacks are included in the night rate and the first 4 hours in the 24-hour rate, and callbacks beyond that pay $325 an hour. Holiday night call pays $3,118.50 and holiday 24-hour call pays $5,197.50.

Skills
