• OB Nocturnist: 10:00 PM–8:00 AM

• In-house call; provider remains in-house for the entire shift

• Call room provided

Facility & Practice Details:

• Regional transfer center for rural hospitals

• Regional trauma center

• NICU on site

• Approximately 1,900 deliveries per year

• Approximately 3–5 deliveries per day

• Approximately 5 GYN emergencies per week

• Full OB/GYN privileging

• MFM available 24/7 for consultative support

• GYN Oncology available 24/7 for consultative support

• Dedicated CNM on shift for assistance

• OB/GYN physician available on call 24/7

• Team includes Family Medicine residents, OB/GYN residents, and medical students

Duties:

• Oversee all labor and perform deliveries

• Round on patients in the morning

• Perform GYN surgery resulting from ED consults during the shift

• Serve as primary physician for all C-sections during the shift

• Provide backup/consultative support to CNMs and Family Medicine physicians who provide OB/GYN care

Case Types:

• High-risk obstetrics

• Preeclampsia

• Gestational diabetes

• Preterm labor

• Fetal anomalies

• Postpartum care

• Abnormal uterine bleeding

• Family planning / contraceptive counseling

Procedures:

• C-sections

• Vaginal deliveries

• IUD insertion/removal

• Pap smears

• Ultrasound

• OB/GYN procedures

Certifications & Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible within 2 years

• BLS

• ACLS

• NRP

• DEA required

• Active Wisconsin license or IMLC accepted

• 1–2 years of experience considered; 3 years highly preferred
