Client is seeking a skilled OB/GYN Physician to join our team at the Cornwall, New York campus.

The physician will provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care across the continuum, including prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care, as well as routine and complex gynecologic evaluation and treatment.

This role combines outpatient and hospital-based clinical care with gynecologic and obstetric procedures, surgical services, labor and delivery call coverage, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

The ideal candidate is a patient-centered physician who demonstrates strong clinical judgment, technical proficiency, communication skills, and a commitment to evidence-based medicine and continuous quality improvement.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
Obstetric Care:
Provide comprehensive prenatal care throughout pregnancy.
Manage intrapartum and postpartum care.
Evaluate and manage routine and complex obstetric conditions.
Participate in labor and delivery call coverage.
Perform appropriate obstetric procedures.
Collaborate with nursing, anesthesia, pediatrics, and other multidisciplinary teams to support safe patient care.

Gynecologic Care:
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage common and complex gynecologic conditions.
Conduct comprehensive patient consultations and physical examinations.
Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
Order, review, and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests.
Provide routine and complex gynecologic care.
Educate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, and preventive care.

Surgical & Procedural Care:
Perform gynecologic and obstetric procedures and surgeries within the physician’s scope of practice.
Apply advanced gynecologic surgical skills as appropriate.
Utilize minimally invasive surgical techniques when clinically indicated and within the physician’s training and expertise.
Ensure appropriate preoperative and postoperative patient management.

Clinical Documentation & Quality:
Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough medical records and clinical documentation.
Follow evidence-based clinical guidelines and hospital policies.
Promote patient safety and high-quality clinical outcomes.
Participate in departmental quality-improvement initiatives and development of clinical best practices.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement across the department.

Collaboration & Professional Engagement:
Work effectively with physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals.
Participate in hospital committees and departmental activities as needed.
Support patient education and community outreach initiatives.
Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families.
Contribute to a collaborative, respectful, and patient-centered clinical environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program.
Board certification or board eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Demonstrated clinical expertise in obstetrics, including:
Prenatal care
Intrapartum management
Postpartum care
Demonstrated proficiency in gynecology, including evaluation, diagnosis, and management of common and complex gynecologic conditions.
Advanced skills in gynecologic surgery and related procedures.
Experience or training in minimally invasive gynecologic techniques when appropriate.
Current, unrestricted New York State medical license, or eligibility to obtain one.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, patient-centered healthcare environment.
Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement.
Willingness to participate in call coverage, hospital committees, and community outreach activities as needed.

Working Hours

Full-time, hospital-based schedule with outpatient and inpatient responsibilities, including labor & delivery call coverage.
