Job description
Job description
An independent, physician-owned women's health practice in Chicago's south suburbs is hiring
an Obstetrics and Gynecology physician to join its established team across two outpatient
offices. The practice is deliberately built around a low obstetric volume and a high office and
surgical volume, which shapes both the week and the compensation. Deliveries run at roughly
35 per month across the whole practice, the certified nurse midwife team carries primary call for
uncomplicated vaginal deliveries, and the incoming physician sits on back call rather than being
pulled in on every case.
The distinguishing feature of this seat is the surgical opportunity. The group's founding physician
is one of the leading robotic gynecologic surgeons in the country and is prepared to train an
incoming physician who wants to build a gynecologic surgery practice. For a physician weighing
a minimally invasive gynecologic surgery fellowship, this is the same training exposure without
the fellowship salary: rather than earning $150,000 to $200,000 for a training year, the physician
starts on a base above $300,000 while building surgical volume that then drives bonus for the
rest of their tenure. The call structure supports this as well, with no office hours on call days and
the following Friday off, so the week is built around operating and office productivity rather than
around covering labor and delivery.

Job Responsibilities
● Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care across the practice's two
outpatient offices
● Perform in-office procedures including hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsy and related
diagnostics
● Perform gynecologic surgery at the covering hospital, with the opportunity to develop or
expand a robotic surgical practice
● Manage obstetric patients through pregnancy and delivery, serving as back call to the
certified nurse midwife team on call days
● Take 24-hour call approximately 5 to 7 days per month, including one weekend
Collaboration & Practice Growth
● Work alongside an established group of physicians and a seasoned certified nurse
midwife who coordinates the midwifery program and shares call
● Collaborate with the incoming certified nurse midwives as that program expands
● Maintain timely, accurate documentation and support clean charge capture, which directly
drives bonus earnings
● Contribute to continuity of care and clinical standards across both office locations
Qualifications
Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
● General obstetrics and gynecology in a private or physician-owned group setting
● In-office gynecologic procedures, including hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy
● Minimally invasive or robotic gynecologic surgery, or a clear interest in developing that
skill set
● Working alongside certified nurse midwives or advanced practice providers in a
shared-call model
● Multi-site practice, or comfort splitting a week between two offices
Required Qualifications
● MD or DO from an accredited medical school
● Completion of an accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency
● Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
● Active Illinois medical license, or eligibility to obtain one prior to start
● Active DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain one prior to start
● Eligibility for hospital privileges, including obstetric and surgical privileges
● Clean malpractice and licensure history
This is an opportunity for a physician who wants a manageable obstetric load, a call structure
that protects the rest of the week, and access to robotic surgical training from a nationally
recognized surgeon while earning a full attending salary rather than a fellowship one.
Working Hours
● 3.5 office days per week, 25 hours of patient care, with a dedicated day off every week
● 24-hour call generally 5 to 7 days per month, including one weekend
● No office hours on call days, and the Friday following a call block is off
● Overnight phone coverage only when on call
● Roughly 35 deliveries per month practice-wide, with the certified nurse midwife carrying
primary call for uncomplicated vaginal deliveries and the physician on back call
