Job description
An ongoing locum tenens OB/GYN opportunity is available in Socorro, NM, with a start date of October 19, 2026. The assignment includes weekday clinic coverage along with overnight and weekend call supporting obstetric and gynecologic patients.
Job Responsibilities
Manage low-risk and higher-risk pregnancies
Perform vaginal deliveries and C-sections
Manage complicated deliveries, including breech, multiple births & abruptions
Interpret FHR monitoring, including NST, CST & FSE
Perform and interpret OB ultrasounds
Repair 3rd & 4th-degree lacerations
Perform gynecologic surgical procedures
Perform D&C, hysterectomy, laparoscopic procedures, cystectomy & other gynecologic surgeries
Document patient care in EPIC
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team
Qualifications
BC/BE with OB/GYN residency training
Current certification or active participation in the certification process
Ability to obtain a New Mexico medical license
Minimum 1 year of experience
Must be able to provide case logs meeting privileging requirements
Working Hours
Duration: Ongoing
Clinic: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Night Call: 5:00 PM–8:00 AM
Weekend Call: Friday 5:00 PM–Monday 8:00 AM
Clinic Volume: Less than 15 patients/day
Deliveries: Approximately 8–10/month
C-section Rate: Approximately 21%
Primarily low-risk cases with occasional high-risk patients
EMR: EPIC
Support from 2 OB/GYNs, RN, MA & C-section assistance when on call
