The facility features an 8-bed department and offers lodging recommendations nearby, ensuring a comfortable experience for locum providers.Opportunity:
Physician (MD) - Obstetrics and GynecologyJob Details:
- Locums coverage beginning in October for most weekends, subject to availability of other local OBGYNs
- Expected 9-10 call days per month, starting at noon on Friday until 7am Monday
- Current need is for sporadic weekends throughout the year
- 2-4 patient encounters per shift in an 8-bed department
- Must hold an active Texas medical license
- Board certification required; credentialing timeframe approximately 30-45 days
- BLS certification required
- Manage low risk pregnancies and routine deliveries including vaginal and low forceps
- Perform FHR interpretation including NST/CST/FSE
- Perform amniocentesis procedures
- OB Ultrasounds - Level I/Screening (viability) required
- Decision-making for c-sections required
- Handle complicated deliveries including c-sections, breech, multiple births, abruptions, and VBACs
- Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations required
- Surgical gynecology including laparoscopic diagnostic/minor procedures such as tubal ligation, LOA's, and chromotubation
- Operative/major gynecological procedures including ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, and extensive LOA's
- Nearest airports are DFW or Love Field (Southwest)
