Job description
WCS Healthcare Partners has an opportunity is with a highly collaborative, academically grounded OB/GYN practice with exceptional longevity and retention. Established for decades, the group includes several physicians and midwives with 10–30 years of tenure. While some clinicians experience a “five year itch,” many return due to the supportive culture, reasonable volumes, and broad scope of practice. The environment is multi ethnic, close knit, and evidence based, with a strong academic affiliation. The department averages 600–650 deliveries annually and is fully staffed at 12 MDs and 7 CNMs.
Job Function
- Provide full scope OB/GYN care in a collaborative attending and midwife led model
- Outpatient practice averaging 14–16 patients/day (up to 20 max)
- Clinical care across 3 ambulatory sites plus hospital based work (would have a "home base")
- Manage labor, delivery, and operative cases with two attendings scrubbing on major cases
- Direct patient care environment with no residents
Participate in:
- Prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care
- Gynecologic and minor surgical procedures
Perform or oversee procedures including:
- IUDs and Nexplanon (placed/removed by CNMs)
- LEEPs (2 sites)
- Colposcopies (all sites)
- Office hysteroscopy
- Endometrial biopsies (Endo C)
- Manual vacuum aspirations (clinic, OR, and ED)
- Medical abortions at non hospital site
Opportunity to develop niche clinical interests (e.g., menopause, sexual dysfunction)
Participate in Centering Pregnancy program
Collaborate closely with:
- MFMs on site for consults and ultrasounds
- Part time Gyn Onc, Urogynecology, and pelvic floor specialists
Adhere to structured schedule:
- 4 clinical days/week
- 3 ambulatory days
- 1 day alternating weekly between OR block time and in house coverage
- Post call day off counts as the “5th day”
Participate in call:
- Required 4 calls/month (3 weeknights 1 weekend 24 hour call)
- Call defined as 5:00pm–8:00am
- Post call day off guaranteed
- Opportunity for additional paid call coverage ($140/hr)
Requirements
- MD or DO
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in OB/GYN
- Eligible for New York State medical licensure
- Comfortable with full scope OB/GYN practice
- Willingness to take shared call within a collaborative team structure
- Interest in working in an academic leaning, evidence based environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to support physician CNM collaboration
