Job description
WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join our team at a top academic hospital in Brooklyn. This role offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal part in shaping the future of the Obstetrics department, with a strong emphasis on high-risk obstetrics and academic involvement. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chair of the Department to lead and innovate within a reputable and expanding program.
Responsibilities
- Lead clinical operations across Obstetrics, Labor & Delivery, and Mother Baby units.
- Provide clinical oversight, develop protocols, and drive quality and safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with the VP of Nursing on inpatient quality and care workflows.
- Work closely with the ObGyn Hospitalist Lead, Residency Program Director, and other hospitalists, including newly hired graduates.
- Participate in Labor & Delivery call rotation (light – once every few months).
- Split role with 40–50% clinical and 50–60% administrative responsibilities.
- Report directly to the Chair of the Department.
Requirements
- Required:
- Board certified OB/GYN.
- 10 years clinical experience with a strong background in high risk obstetrics.
- Demonstrated leadership within an academic or complex health system.
- Experience overseeing inpatient operations, quality, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Preferred:
- MFM fellowship training.
- Prior experience managing physician leaders and residency engagement.
- Experience writing or implementing clinical protocols.
- Academic credentials suitable for appointment at a state university.
