Job description
We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible OB/GYN Physician for a contract opportunity in Socorro, New Mexico. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified physician seeking a community-based practice with a manageable patient volume, supportive clinical team, and a broad range of obstetric and gynecologic responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage low-risk pregnancies and selected patients with pre-existing medical or obstetric conditions.
• Perform routine vaginal deliveries and low-forceps deliveries.
• Perform and manage C-sections and make appropriate decisions regarding operative delivery.
• Manage complicated deliveries, including breech presentations, multiple births, abruptions, and other obstetric complications.
• Interpret fetal heart monitoring, including NST, CST, and FSE.
• Perform and interpret Level I/screening obstetric ultrasounds.
• Interpret Level II/targeted anatomical ultrasounds.
• Perform repair of third- and fourth-degree lacerations.
• Perform gynecologic procedures including D&C, hysterectomy, uterine suspension, anterior/posterior repair, and tumor resection.
• Perform appropriate incontinence and infertility procedures.
• Perform laparoscopic diagnostic and minor procedures, including tubal ligation and lysis of adhesions.
• Manage surgical gynecologic cases including ectopic pregnancy, oophorectomy, cystectomy, and extensive lysis of adhesions.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Provide appropriate patient education, follow-up, and continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation.
Qualifications
Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
Current board certification or active participation in the certification examination process, with certification expected within the required timeframe
Ability to obtain and maintain a New Mexico medical license
Strong patient-care and communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Patient-focused approach and commitment to quality care
Motivation to contribute to and grow within a community-based practice
Working Hours
• Night call: 5:00 PM–8:00 AM.
• Weekend call: Friday 5:00 PM–Monday 8:00 AM.
• Physician will be on call while working in the clinic from 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
• Holiday coverage is required.
• Initial coverage dates include August 5–7, August 20–23, and August 25–28, 2026.
• Ongoing coverage needs may be available throughout 2026.
