Job description

Job description A hospital in the Mt. Pleasant, MI area needs a Board Certified OB/GYN physician to cover OB call every 5th week of the month, September 25, 2026 through January 2, 2027. Pay is $1,600 per 24-hour call period, $325/hr callback. Coverage includes Labor & Delivery, Emergency Department, surgical coverage, and acute/urgent surgical needs, plus emergent clinic consults to determine hospital admission. Approximately 4 deliveries per day. 2 NPs on support staff. Cerner EMR. Local candidates preferred.

Job Responsibilities

Cover Labor & Delivery, Emergency Department, and surgical needs during 24-hour call periods. Manage low-risk pregnancies, vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations. Support VBACs, perform OB ultrasounds and amniocentesis. Evaluate emergent clinic consults to determine hospital admission need.

Qualifications

Board Certified in OB/GYN, required. Active Michigan license required, no exceptions. Minimum 2 years of OB/GYN experience required. Local candidates preferred. NPDB self-query required, pulled within 30 days, needed at time of presentation.

Working Hours

OB call every 5th week of the month, September 2026 through January 2, 2027.

Skills

Comfortable with low-risk OB, vaginal delivery, C-section, VBAC support, and 3rd/4th degree laceration repair. Comfortable evaluating emergent surgical and ED consults during 24-hour call.
