  • 12-hour shifts can also be accommodated
  • In-house coverage
  • Flexible scheduling based on provider availability

Practice Setting

  • Labor & Delivery
  • Predominantly high-risk obstetrics
  • Level II Nursery
  • Approximately 11–12 deliveries per day
  • Epic EMR

  • MFM physicians available in-house during the day
  • MFM available on call overnight
  • 24/7 access to Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists
  • OB Hospitalists co-manage complex patients alongside MFM
  • Generalists with strong high-risk OB experience are considered with full MFM support
  • Pregnant and postpartum patients requiring ECMO-level care are rare and primarily managed by MFM and ICU teams
  • CVICU deliveries are generally performed by MFM physicians
  • ICU deliveries are typically managed by OB Hospitalists/Generalists with MFM and ICU support

Clinical Responsibilities

  • ICU team support for highly complex patients
  • No residents to supervise

Requirements

  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified in OB/GYN
  • Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience required
  • Strong high-risk obstetric experience
  • Active Minnesota license highly preferred
  • If not Minnesota licensed, IMLC eligibility/LOQ is required
  • BLS required
  • Must be comfortable managing complex, high-acuity OB patients with MFM support

Credentialing

  • Standard credentialing: approximately 90–120 days
  • Emergency temporary privileges may be available for clean files
  • Candidates with clean backgrounds who can move quickly through emergency credentialing are strongly preferred for the ASAP need

Ideal Candidate

A Board Certified OB/GYN with Level I or II Trauma Center experience who is comfortable managing a predominantly high-risk obstetric population. Physicians do not need to be MFM specialists; experienced generalists interested in high-risk OB are welcome, with MFM specialists available for support 24/7. This is an excellent option for physicians seeking 24-hour or 12-hour in-house OB Hospitalist shifts with no current GYN responsibilities.
