Job description

Job description A float pool hospital system in the Minneapolis, MN area (Abbott Northwestern and United) needs OB Hospitalist providers comfortable managing high-risk pregnancies with full Maternal-Fetal Medicine support. MFM is in-house during the day and on call overnight. Pay is $5,500 per 24-hour shift, or $2,750 per 12-hour shift if preferred. ASAP start, ongoing assignment. Emergency temp privileges available for candidates with a clean file. Approximately 11-12 deliveries per day, Level II nursery. This is OB-only coverage (no GYN), primarily covering the MFM service and its patients, plus urgent OB needs and unit emergencies, assisting with C-sections and other obstetrical procedures, and covering unassigned/undoctored OB patients.

Job Responsibilities

Co-manage patients with MFM specialists and provide obstetric coverage including labor and delivery care. Respond to urgent OB needs and unit emergencies. Assist with C-sections and other obstetrical procedures. Cover unassigned/undoctored OB patients. Work alongside another in-house Allina OB/GYN covering the clinic service, with mutual support between OBH and clinic providers.

Qualifications

Board Certified in OB/GYN, required. Minnesota license highly preferred, IMLC required if not MN licensed. BLS required. Trauma Level I or II experience required. Open to generalists interested in high-risk work with full MFM support, prior MFM fellowship not required.

Working Hours

24-hour in-house call, 7am-7am, or 12-hour shifts if preferred (7am-7pm or 7pm-7am).

Skills

Comfortable managing a predominantly high-risk OB population (over 90% of census involves MFM management), co-managing with MFM and ICU teams on the most complex cases. Epic (Excellian) and Obix for electronic fetal monitoring.
