Job description A hospital in the Athens, OH area needs OB/GYN Hospitalists for per diem coverage, 24-hour in-house shifts with flexible scheduling. Athens is in eastern Ohio, less than 2 hours from Columbus and Cleveland, and close to the Pennsylvania and West Virginia state lines. This is a collaborative OB Hospitalist model working alongside community OBs, family practice physicians, and sub-specialists, providing OB triage, admissions, inpatient care, and delivery coverage, plus management of OB/GYN emergency department patients. Compensation is competitive for this market, details available by phone.

Job Responsibilities

Provide OB triage, inpatient admissions, and delivery coverage. Manage obstetric and gynecologic emergencies on a 24-hour in-house basis. Manage OB/GYN emergency department patients. Communicate in real time with community office physicians regarding triage visits, new issues, and deliveries.

Qualifications

Board Certified in OB/GYN, required (board eligible accepted per facility description, but BC required per submission requirements, confirm which applies at name-clear). Active Ohio license preferred, or IMLC compact eligible, license assistance available if needed. Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience required. Completed Prescreen Questionnaire required at submission. CV must be in MM/YYYY format with all gaps explained. Current NPDB self-query, pulled within 30 days of submission, required. Home address, phone number, and email must appear on the first page of the CV. Case logs showing a minimum of 50 deliveries within the last 24 months required.

Working Hours

24-hour in-house shifts, rotating/flexible per diem scheduling.

Skills

Comfortable managing a full-scope OB hospitalist caseload including triage, deliveries, and emergency department OB/GYN coverage in a collaborative community hospital setting.
