Job description

Job description A hospital in the Hobbs, NM area needs a Board Certified OB/GYN physician for ongoing coverage starting January 2027, with a preference for one provider to cover all 20 shifts per month, though two providers splitting 10 and 10 will be considered. Pay is $2,000/day, all-inclusive (covers all hours, clinic and call combined). This is a low-volume, independent practice site, approximately 40 deliveries per month, 12-13 patients per shift, and the physician will be working solo, so comfort practicing independently and full-scope experience are essential.

Job Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient OB/GYN care. Manage low and high-risk pregnancies, FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE), OB ultrasounds (Level I/screening and Level II/targeted), amniocentesis, routine and complicated deliveries (vaginal, low forceps, C-section decision-making, breech, multiples, abruptions, VBACs), repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations, office/minor gynecology (IUD, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP), and surgical gynecology both open and laparoscopic, including major cases such as ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, and cystectomy. Cover 24-hour beeper call every day, including during scheduled clinic hours.

Qualifications

Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, required, board eligible not accepted. Active New Mexico license required. DEA required. BLS required. Must be comfortable working independently with no on-site backup provider.

Working Hours

Monday-Friday clinic 8am-10am and 1pm-3pm (no Friday afternoon clinic), plus 24-hour beeper call every day of the week, including during clinic hours. 10-20 shifts per month.

Skills

Full-scope OB/GYN competency including major surgical gynecology, high-risk obstetric management, and independent solo practice. 20-minute call response time required. Epic EMR.
