Join a busy OB Hospitalist program in Des Moines, Iowa, providing comprehensive inpatient obstetric care, emergency coverage, and labor & delivery support.

📞 24/7 In-House Call
💻 Epic EMR
👩⚕️ Sole OB Physician on Site During Your Shift
⚠️ Physicians cannot work more than two consecutive 24-hour shifts.

📅 December:
11, 12, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30 & 31
✨ Many more coverage dates expected in 2027!
What You'll Do
👶 Manage labor and perform deliveries
🏥 Provide OBED and Labor & Delivery coverage
🚨 Evaluate and manage emergent obstetric patients
🩺 Perform vaginal deliveries and emergency C-sections
👯 Manage VBAC and twin deliveries
🚑 Support Iowa's maternity transport team
📋 Manage antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care
🔄 Coordinate admissions, transfers, and operative care
🤝 Collaborate with midwives and support complex deliveries
🎓 Work alongside residents and medical students
📝 Complete documentation and order entry in Epic
No GYN responsibilities.
Requirements
✅ Board Certified in OB/GYN — truly Board Eligible candidates may also be considered
✅ Active Iowa license, Active IMLC with LOQ, or new license candidates for 2027 dates
✅ Must provide the exact dates available and average number of shifts available per month
✅ NPDB Self-Query pulled within the past 30 days
✅ Must meet malpractice/background requirements
