Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced OB Hospitalist / OBGYN to provide ongoing inpatient coverage in a regional trauma and transfer center. This is a highly collaborative, team-based environment with strong nursing and ancillary support.

The facility manages approximately 1,900 deliveries annually, with a diverse and high-acuity obstetric and gynecologic patient population.

Schedule

Full-Time

• 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
• Coverage needed 7 days per week
• Providers with availability for 7-day stretches are strongly preferred

Part-Time

• 6:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Saturday and Sunday
• Weekend-only providers will be considered

Additional scheduling flexibility may be available based on provider availability.

Call & Coverage

• In-house call
• MD/DO remains in-house at all times
• Dedicated call room provided
• Cover the ER, floor, obstetric triage, and calls throughout the shift
• First call for ED consultations
• First call for AP floor service
• Assist with cesarean deliveries
• Assist with GYN surgeries

Facility & Clinical Support

• Regional trauma center
• Regional transfer center for rural hospitals
• NICU on site
• MFM available 24/7 for consultation
• GYN Oncology available 24/7 for consultation
• OB/GYN physician available 24/7 for backup
• Dedicated CNM on shift for additional support
• FP residents
• OB/GYN residents
• Medical students
• Full OB/GYN privileging

Clinical Volume

• Approximately 1,900 deliveries per year
• Approximately 3–5 deliveries per day
• Approximately 5 GYN emergencies per week

Providers should be comfortable managing:

• High-Risk Obstetrics
• Preeclampsia
• Gestational Diabetes
• Preterm Labor
• Fetal Anomalies
• Postpartum Care
• Abnormal Uterine Bleeding
• Family Planning / Contraceptive Counseling
• OB/GYN emergencies

Procedures

• Cesarean sections
• Vaginal deliveries
• IUD insertion and removal
• Pap smears
• Ultrasound
• Obstetric procedures
• Gynecologic procedures
• GYN surgical assistance

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible within 2 years
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• NRP required
• DEA required
• 3+ years of experience strongly preferred
• Providers with 1–2 years of experience may be considered
• IMLC accepted

Travel

Travel expenses are covered, including:

• Airfare
• Rental car
• Lodging

Compensation

• Regular Rate: $292.50–$325/hour
• Overtime: 1.3x regular hourly rate
• Holiday Rate: 1.3x regular hourly rate

Holiday Rate Applies To

Holiday rates apply from 11:00 PM the night before the holiday through 11:00 PM the night of the holiday for:

• New Year's Day
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Day

Practice Environment

The OB Hospitalist will work in a team-based, collegial environment with strong nursing and ancillary support. The role provides an opportunity to work alongside OB/GYN physicians, residents, medical students, CNMs, MFM specialists, and GYN Oncology specialists.

Ideal Candidate: An experienced OBGYN/OB Hospitalist who is comfortable with high-risk obstetrics, emergency GYN care, cesarean deliveries, and inpatient OB coverage, with a preference for providers who can commit to 7-day stretches or weekend coverage.
