Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced OB Hospitalist / OBGYN to provide ongoing coverage at a regional medical center and trauma center. This is a team-based, collegial practice environment with strong nursing and ancillary support.

The facility serves as a regional transfer center for rural hospitals and provides care for high-risk obstetric and gynecologic patients.

Schedule Options

• Full-Time: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM, 7 days per week
• Part-Time: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday
• Additional scheduling flexibility available
• Weekend-only coverage considered
• Providers with availability for 7-day stretches are strongly preferred

Call & Coverage

• In-house call
• MD/DO remains in-house at all times
• Dedicated call room provided
• Provider will cover the ER, floor, triage visits, and calls throughout the shift
• First call for ED consultations
• First call for AP floor service
• Assist with cesarean deliveries
• Assist with GYN surgeries

Facility & Team

• Regional trauma center
• Regional transfer center for rural hospitals
• NICU on site
• MFM available 24/7 for consultation
• GYN Oncology available 24/7 for consultation
• Dedicated CNM on shift for assistance
• OB/GYN physician available 24/7 for backup
• FP residents
• OB/GYN residents
• Medical students
• Provider will provide backup/consultation to CNMs and Family Medicine physicians performing OB/GYN services

Clinical Volume

• Approximately 1,900 deliveries per year
• Approximately 3–5 deliveries per day
• Approximately 5 GYN emergencies per week
• Full OB/GYN privileging

Patient Population & Case Types

Providers should be comfortable managing a broad range of obstetric and gynecologic cases, including:

• High-risk obstetrics
• Preeclampsia
• Gestational diabetes
• Preterm labor
• Fetal anomalies
• Postpartum care
• Abnormal uterine bleeding
• Family planning and contraceptive counseling
• OB/GYN emergencies

Procedures

• Cesarean sections
• Vaginal deliveries
• IUD insertion/removal
• Pap smears
• Ultrasound
• Obstetric procedures
• Gynecologic procedures
• GYN surgery assistance

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible within 2 years
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• NRP required
• DEA required
• 3+ years of experience strongly preferred
• Providers with 1–2 years of experience may be considered
• Active state license required
• IMLC accepted

Travel

Travel expenses are covered, including:

• Airfare
• Rental car
• Lodging

Compensation

• Regular Rate: $292.50–$325/hour
• Overtime: 1.3x regular hourly rate
• Holiday Rate: 1.3x regular hourly rate

Holiday Coverage

Holiday rates apply from 11:00 PM the night before the holiday through 11:00 PM the night of the holiday for:

• New Year's Day
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving Day
• Christmas Day

Practice Environment

This is a collaborative, team-based environment with dedicated nursing and ancillary support. The OB Hospitalist will work closely with residents, medical students, CNMs, OB/GYN physicians, and other specialists while providing comprehensive inpatient obstetric and gynecologic coverage.

Ideal Candidate: An experienced OBGYN/OB Hospitalist who is comfortable with high-risk obstetrics, emergency GYN care, C-sections, and inpatient coverage and is available for extended 7-day stretches or weekend coverage.
