Join an outstanding locum tenens Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician opportunity in Socorro, New Mexico. This exciting travel assignment offers the chance to provide comprehensive women's healthcare in both the clinic and labor & delivery settings while enjoying the flexibility, autonomy, and professional growth that locum tenens practice provides.
Work alongside an experienced OB/GYN team caring for predominantly low-risk obstetric patients while performing a broad scope of obstetric and gynecologic procedures. This assignment is ideal for physicians seeking meaningful clinical experience, flexible scheduling, and a collaborative practice environment.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage labor and delivery, including vaginal and Cesarean deliveries.
• Perform gynecologic surgical procedures and emergency OB/GYN care.
• Participate in weekday, night, and weekend call coverage.
• Document patient care using Epic EMR.
Qualifications
• Completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency.
• Active New Mexico medical license or ability to obtain one.
• Minimum 1 year of experience.
• Epic EMR experience.
• Must provide case logs demonstrating:
o At least 50 vaginal deliveries in the past 12 months.
o At least 20 Cesarean sections in the past 12 months.
o At least 25 gynecologic surgical procedures, including 5 major abdominal cases, within the past 12 months.
• Must complete required immunization and pre-employment drug screening.
Working Hours
• On call while covering clinic
• Night call: 5:00 PM – 8:00 AM
• Weekend call: Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 8:00 AM
• Ongoing locum coverage
Skills
• Vaginal and Cesarean deliveries
• Fetal heart rate interpretation (NST, CST, FSE)
• Obstetric ultrasound performance and interpretation
• High-risk and low-risk obstetric care
• Gynecologic surgery, including D&C, hysterectomy, laparoscopic procedures, and ectopic pregnancy management
• Repair of obstetric lacerations
• Epic EMR proficiency
