We are seeking a Board Certified OB/GYN Physician for an ongoing locum opportunity providing 24-hour call coverage in Tiffin, Ohio. This assignment includes Labor & Delivery, Emergency Department/GYN call, and surgical OB/GYN coverage in a collaborative hospital setting with the potential for emergency temporary privileges.

Assignment Details

  • Ongoing locum coverage
  • 24-hour call (8:00 AM–8:00 AM)
  • No in-house call
  • Weekend coverage included

Current Coverage Needs

  • October 2–5
  • October 16–19
  • November 6–9
  • December 23–30
  • December 31–January 4

Schedule

  • 24-hour call shifts
  • 8:00 AM–8:00 AM
  • Call back as needed
  • No in-house call

Practice Setting

  • Hospital-based Labor & Delivery and Emergency Department/GYN call
  • Epic EMR

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Labor & Delivery call coverage
  • OB/GYN Emergency Department consultations
  • Perform Cesarean sections
  • Perform all OB/GYN surgical procedures, including scheduled D&Cs
  • Manage obstetrical and gynecologic emergencies

Program Details

  • 10 LDRP beds
  • 3 postpartum beds
  • 1 OB triage bed
  • 12 normal newborn nursery beds
  • No Special Care Nursery
  • 2 OB/GYN physicians
  • 5 Certified Nurse Midwives
  • Approximately 40–50% gynecology
  • 1–4 GYN surgeries per day
  • Approximately 15–35% C-section rate
  • Average 2–5 nursery admissions per day

Requirements

  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Active Ohio medical license
  • NRP required
  • ACLS required
  • Flu vaccination required
  • COVID vaccination preferred
  • Must be able to perform Cesarean sections and the full spectrum of OB/GYN surgical procedures
  • Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation
  • Providers must have availability matching the requested coverage dates

Credentialing

  • Approximately 60–90 days
  • Emergency temporary privileges may be available for providers with a clean background and active Ohio license and DEA

Travel

  • Lodging reimbursed up to approximately $150 per night
  • Standard/economy travel reimbursement provided

Ideal Candidate

An experienced Board Certified OB/GYN physician comfortable providing independent 24-hour call coverage, managing Labor & Delivery, OB/GYN emergencies, and performing Cesarean sections and gynecologic surgeries in a community hospital setting.
