Specialty: OB/GYN
Dates needed are 8/17-8/23.
What is the daily schedule: Beeper call, there may be some scheduled c-sections/inductions throughout the week. No clinic schedule. Probable rounding at least once daily.
Are there clinic days, call shifts, or both? Call shifts only (no clinic days)
Is call in-house or beeper call? Beeper call only
Is weekend coverage required? Yes
What is the response time if on beeper call? 20 or 30 minutes
Is this OB only, GYN only, or full-scope OB/GYN? Full scope OBGYN
What percentage is OB versus GYN? Estimate, but would say 90% OB and 10% gyn
Are C-sections required? Yes
Are VBACs performed? Yes, but not a requirement. Patients are notified that there is a possibility that the provider on call may not perform Vbacs.
Are operative vaginal deliveries expected? Yes, if needed
What gynecologic surgeries are required? (Hysterectomy, laparoscopy, D&C, etc.) – Urgent GYN surgeries which may include but not limited to: ectopic pregnancy surgery, ovarian torsion surgery, suction D&C, emergency hysterectomy for hemorrhage control, abscess removal
Is circumcision required? No, pediatrician on call will perform
Will the physician round on postpartum patients? Yes
Are high-risk pregnancies managed or transferred? Both, we do co-manage high risk patients with MFM and if deemed appropriate patient can still deliver in Defiance. Certain high risk patients though are transferred out.
Is there an MFM program available? Yes
What procedures are required versus preferred? C-sections are required
What is the facility's trauma level? Level III
Average clinic patients per day? N/A – no clinic coverage needed
