OB/GYN Hospitalist Locum Opportunity in California | Ongoing 24-Hour Coverage

Opportunity Highlights

• Ongoing assignment with an anticipated need of 6+ months
• Approximately 12 shifts per month
• 24-hour in-house shifts (8:00 AM - 8:00 AM)

• Established Women's Services program within a 336-bed acute care hospital
• Level III NICU onsite

• Potential temporary privileges available for qualified candidates
• Cerner EMR

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour in-house Labor & Delivery coverage
• Manage unassigned obstetric patients and obstetrical emergencies
• Respond to OB emergencies from Labor & Delivery and the Emergency Department
• Perform emergency gynecologic surgical procedures as needed
• Provide inpatient OB/GYN consultations
• Assist with cesarean sections
• Collaborate with community OB/GYN physicians who provide backup call coverage

Annual Volume

• Approximately 3,000 deliveries
• Approximately 6,000–7,000 OB Emergency Department visits
• Approximately 250 OBED visits per month
• Approximately 60 surgical procedures annually

Coverage Model

• Two-physician model during daytime hours
• One to two physician coverage model overnight
• Community OB/GYN physicians available for backup call support

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN
• Minimum of three years of active OB/GYN experience
• Active state medical license preferred
• Comfortable providing 24-hour in-house Labor & Delivery coverage
• Experience managing obstetrical emergencies and inpatient obstetric care
• Experience performing emergency gynecologic procedures
• Comfortable assisting with cesarean sections

• 39 ICU beds
• Level III NICU
• High-volume obstetrics program
