Location: Richmond, VA
Job Type: Locum Tenens
Overview:
An established OB/GYN practice is seeking a physician to provide coverage across both clinic and hospital settings. This role includes outpatient care, labor and delivery, and on-call responsibilities within a collaborative team environment.
Compensation:
$1500 / 24h with $300/hr call back
Assignment Dates:
May 26 – 28, 2026
June 2 – 3, 2026
June 18 – 19, 2026
July 1 – 2, 2026
July 15 – 16, 2026
July 30 – 31, 2026
August 1 – 2, 2026
August 4 – 5, 2026
August 12 – 13, 2026
August 18 – 19, 2026
Schedule:
Office hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
24-hour call shifts in combination with clinic coverage
Call rotation: 1:4
Practice Details:
Setting: Office and Hospital
EMR: Epic
Trauma Level: II
Onsite lab and ultrasound available
Strong clinical support staff (1:1 support per provider)
Team includes physicians and midwives
Patient Volume:
25–30 patients per day
Practice Mix:
90% low-risk obstetrics
10% high-risk obstetrics
20% gynecology
Approximately 10% C-section rate
Responsibilities:
Outpatient OB/GYN care
Labor and delivery coverage
Inpatient rounding and call responsibilities
Perform gynecologic procedures and surgeries
Required Procedures:
Obstetrics:
Low-risk pregnancy management
Fetal heart rate interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
OB ultrasound interpretation (Level I/screening)
Labor & Delivery:
Vaginal deliveries (including assisted)
Cesarean sections
Management of complicated deliveries (breech, multiple births, abruptions)
VBACs
Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
Gynecology:
Office procedures (IUD placement, colposcopy, cryotherapy, LEEP, cystoscopy)
Surgical procedures (laparoscopic and open cases including tubal ligation, ectopic pregnancy, ovarian procedures, and adhesiolysis)
Requirements:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN – Required
Active Virginia License or willingness to obtain – Required
BLS & ACLS – Required
NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days) – Required
Must be local and provide location at time of submission – Required
Credentialing:
Estimated timeframe: ~120 days
