We are seeking an experienced OB/GYN Physician for a locum opportunity in Potsdam, NY. This role offers 24-hour call coverage (1st call) with flexible scheduling blocks, ideal for providers who prefer consolidated stretches of shifts.
The position includes a full scope of obstetric and gynecologic care in a well-supported hospital environment.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage labor & delivery and gynecological cases
• Perform procedures including:
o Spontaneous vaginal delivery (SVD)
o Operative vaginal delivery (forceps/vacuum)
o Cesarean sections
o D&C / D&E procedures
o Laparoscopic and abdominal gynecologic surgeries
o Infant male circumcisions
• Handle 0–10 patients per shift (variable acuity)
• Collaborate with nursing staff, anesthesiology, and support teams
• Utilize Epic EMR for documentation
Qualifications
• Active New York license required (in hand)
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Epic experience required
Working Hours
• Shift Options:
o 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
o 7:00 PM – 7:00 PM
• Coverage Type: 24-hour call (1st call)
Schedule Blocks:
• April 6 (7 PM) – April 12 (7 PM)
• April 13 (7 PM) – April 16 (7 AM)
• May 1 (7 AM) – May 3 (7 PM)
• May 14 (7 PM) – May 17 (7 PM)
• May 18 (7 PM) – May 24 (7 PM)
• Facility prefers continuous coverage blocks
Skills
• Ability to manage both routine and acute cases
• Experience in labor & delivery settings
