Job description
ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking an experienced Locum-to-Perm OB/GYN physician (MD/DO) to join a collaborative team of physicians and midwives. This role provides comprehensive office-based and hospital OB/GYN care while covering for a physician on medical leave. The provider will manage a predominantly low-risk obstetrics population while also performing a full scope of gynecologic and surgical procedures.

Office Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Call: 24-hour call (includes weekday office schedule)

Job Details / Responsibilities
-
Practice Setting: Office and hospital-based OB/GYN with call
-
Reason for Coverage: Physician on medical leave
-
Team Composition: 4 physicians (1 on leave), 5 midwives, 5 APPs
-
Support Staff: 1:1 clinical support (CMA, LPN, or RN per provider)

Average Patients Per Day: 25–30
-
Exam Rooms: 3 per provider

EMR: EPC
-
Onsite Services: Lab and ultrasound available
-
Trauma Level: Level II
-
NICU: Level III
Patient & Practice Mix:
-
90% Low-Risk OB
-
10% High-Risk OB
-
20% GYN
-
~10% C-sections
-
1–4 GYN surgeries per day (provider preference and case time dependent)
Required Obstetrics Skills:
-
Management of low-risk pregnancies
-
FHR interpretation (NST, CST, FSE)
-
OB ultrasound interpretation and Level I/viability scans
-
Collaboration with experienced ultrasound technicians
Labor & Delivery Procedures:
-
Routine vaginal deliveries (including low forceps)
-
C-sections (routine and emergent)
-
Management of complicated deliveries (breech, multiples, abruptions)
-
VBACs
-
Repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations
Gynecology Procedures:
-
Office procedures (IUD placement, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP)

Laparoscopic and open diagnostic/minor surgeries (tubal ligation, LOAs, chromal tubation)
-
Major operative procedures (ectopic pregnancy, oophorectomy, cystectomy, extensive LOAs)
Required Skills & Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN – Required

Active Virginia license (or willingness to obtain) – Required

BLS and ACLS certification – Required

Self-Query NPDB report (dated within 30 days of presentation) – Required

Must be a local provider – Required
