Ellbogen Mother, Baby and Family Center celebrates over 1,100 births annually, marked by a lullaby played throughout the hospital. The facility features six labor and delivery rooms, a dedicated C-section suite, and 10 private family-sized rooms with pull-out couches for comfort. For babies requiring additional care, the Level II Nursery offers specialized treatment, including respiratory support and 24/7 pediatric hospitalists, keeping families close to home. With its privacy-focused design and comprehensive care, the center ensures safety and comfort for both mother and baby.

What Does an OB/GYN Hospitalist Do?

Caring for all pregnant women who present emergently, regardless of circumstance

Cultivating relationships with staff nurses and hospital personnel

Supporting private practice physicians by providing coverage and assistance

Caring for unassigned patients

Evaluating and treating triage patients

Providing consultation to the ED
-
Monitoring labor and Delivering babies
-
Performing surgery and surgical assists
-
Evaluating and treating postpartum patients

Assisting with OB residents and medical student education

Providing nurse support and education
-
Participating in emergency drills and simulations

Developing best practices

Participating in clinical trials

Facilitating daily interdisciplinary board rounds to improve patient safety
