Bellefontaine is a charming small town in west-central Ohio offering a friendly community atmosphere with a relaxed pace of life. The area provides beautiful natural surroundings with easy access to outdoor recreation while still being within reasonable driving distance to larger cities like Columbus and Dayton.
Facility:
This facility is a well-established community hospital offering comprehensive healthcare services to the local population. The hospital features 45 staffed beds plus a 20-room Emergency Department, providing essential medical care to the region with modern facilities and dedicated staff committed to quality patient care.
Opportunity:
Physician - OB/GYN
Job Details:
• URGENT need to cover December 28, 29 and January 5 with potential for additional vacation coverage • Not in-house position but requires 30-minute response time to hospital • Primarily obstetrical care with average of one delivery per day (approx. 360 births/year) • 1:4 call rotation covering both weekdays and weekends • Meditech Expanse EMR system for documentation and patient management • Work alongside experienced nursing staff in a supportive environment • Low-risk pregnancy management with occasional high-risk deliveries • High-risk pregnancies are typically referred to tertiary centers • Approximately 30% C-section rate with average of one nursery admission per day • Level 1 nursery • Required to perform vaginal deliveries, low forceps deliveries, and make C-section decisions • Experience with complicated deliveries including C-sections, breech, multiple births, and abruptions • Ability to repair 3rd & 4th degree lacerations as required • Required skills include FHR interpretation (NST/FSE), OB ultrasounds (Level I/Screening and Level II/Targeted) • Must be TRULY Board Eligible (within 1 year of graduation) or Board Certified • Completion of ABOG or AOA-accredited OB/GYN residency required • Active Ohio medical license required • Clean malpractice/licensure history preferred • Must have performed 50 deliveries in the last 12 months with at least 5 being C-sections • BLS and ACLS certifications required • Site will reimburse for flight, rental car, and lodging
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
