This well-established medical center provides comprehensive healthcare services to the community of Eureka and surrounding areas. The facility is a Level 3 trauma center that offers a full range of obstetric and gynecological services in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Opportunity:
Physician - Obstetrics and Gynecology
Job Details:
• Locum tenens position starting February 2026 (possible March start depending on privileging timeline)
• Coverage needed for the first 2 weeks of each month (specific date ranges provided)
• 24-hour call coverage (6am-6am) with 30-minute response time
• California medical license required
• Board certified or truly Board Eligible required
• BLS and NRP certification required
• Miscarriage management experience required
• Must have 2 years of current hospital clinical activity in specialty
• Typical privileging timeline is 60-90 days
• Provide services for low and high risk pregnancies
• Perform FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
• Conduct Level I/Screening OB ultrasounds
• Manage routine deliveries including vaginal and low forceps
• Decision-making for c-sections
• Handle complicated deliveries including c-sections, breech, multiple births, and abruptions
• Perform VBAC deliveries
• Repair 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
• Provide office/minor gynecology services (IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.)
• Perform surgical gynecology including open and laparoscopic procedures
• Conduct operative/major procedures including ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, and extensive LOA's
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
