Job Title: OBGYN Physician – Inpatient Coverage
Job Type: Locum Tenens
Setting: Inpatient | Hospital-based
Job Description:
We are seeking a Board-Certified OBGYN Physician for inpatient locum tenens coverage. This role involves managing obstetrical and gynecological patients in a rural hospital setting. The provider will handle labor and delivery, triage and treat antepartum patients, and respond to emergency department consults related to OBGYN issues.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct inpatient rounding on OBGYN patients
Manage active labors and deliver newborns
Provide antepartum triage and treatment
Respond to ED consults for OBGYN-related concerns
Perform urgent and emergent gynecologic procedures
Required Procedures:
Vaginal Deliveries
Cesarean Sections
Management of maternal hypertension and hemorrhage
D&C (Dilation and Curettage)
Endometrial Ablations
Hysterectomies
Other gynecologic surgeries as clinically indicated
EMR System: Epic
Support Staff: RNs on Labor & Delivery
Estimated Monthly Deliveries: 30
Call Requirements: First call responsibilities required
Midwives On Staff: No
Admissions per Day: Varies
Qualifications
Active Kentucky Medical License – Required
ACLS and DEA Certification – Required prior to credentialing
Clean malpractice history – Highly preferred
Availability at the time of name clear – Required
