Academic Neurologist with preference given to Epileptologist or Clinical Neuro-physiologist

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the esteemed faculty at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso’s Paul L. Foster School of Medicine. The Department of Neurology is committed to excellence in patient care, education, and research. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Neurologist, with preference given to an Epileptologist or Clinical Neurophysiologist to help grow our department.

Position Highlights:

· Enjoy the flexibility of providing both inpatient and outpatient adult neurophysiology services, and consultation services in the affiliated hospitals.

· Provide direct patient care and consultative service to other medical professionals.

· Supervise resident clinics and actively participate in our comprehensive teaching program, contributing to the training and development of residents and medical students.

· Diagnose and treat adults with neurological conditions, to include interpretation of routine EEGs, ICU and epilepsy video EEG monitoring, intraoperative monitoring, and evoked potentials.

· Engages in the advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship

· Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work

· Contributes to the community through academically related public service complementary to the institutional mission

Minimum Qualifications:

· MD or DO Degree

· Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurology Residency Program

· Texas Medical License, or be eligible for licensure in the state of Texas

Preferred Qualifications:

· Bilingual (Spanish and English)

· Fellowship trained in Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology from an accredited program in the United States

· Board certification in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

· Regional or emerging national recognition in the area of specialty for associate professor or higher level

· Certification and/or experience in Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology
