Locums Neurology Physician

We are seeking a Board-Certified Neurology Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in Petoskey, Michigan. The physician will provide inpatient and outpatient neurological care, perform neurological evaluations and procedures, interpret EEG studies, and provide 24/7 inpatient call coverage, including rotating weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

· Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with neurological conditions in inpatient and outpatient settings.

· Provide onsite hospital coverage throughout the scheduled shift, including when outpatient appointments are not scheduled.

· See approximately 6–8 patients per day.

· Provide inpatient and after-hours call coverage.

· Interpret inpatient and outpatient EEG studies as needed.

· Perform lumbar punctures and brain death examinations.

· Interpret radiologic examinations and perform evoked potential testing as required.

· Maintain accurate patient documentation using Cerner EMR.

· Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.

Schedule and Practice Details

· Regular Hours: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

· Outpatient Clinic Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 1:00 PM–3:00 PM

· Patient Volume: Approximately 6–8 patients per day

· Call Requirements: Inpatient call 24/7, with after-hours coverage

· Weekend Call: 24-hour coverage, 8:00 AM–8:00 AM

· EEG Reads: Inpatient and outpatient as needed

· EMR: Cerner

· Coverage: Onsite hospital and clinic

Qualifications

· MD or DO degree.

· Board Certification in Neurology.

· Active Michigan medical license.

· Current DEA registration.

· Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
