We are seeking a Neurologist who values multidisciplinary collaboration while maintaining ownership of clinical decision-making, patient communication, diagnostic evaluation, and ongoing treatment management.

As a Neurologist, you will evaluate and treat conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system.

You will integrate patient history, neurological examinations, diagnostic testing, and clinical judgment to establish diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans. You will monitor treatment effectiveness, address potential adverse effects, communicate clearly with patients and families, and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
Comprehensive Neurological Evaluation:
Conduct detailed neurological consultations, including review of symptoms, medical history, medications, prior treatment, and relevant diagnostic findings.
Perform comprehensive neurological examinations.
Develop appropriate differential diagnoses.
Evaluate complex neurological presentations and determine when additional testing or specialty consultation is appropriate.
Integrate examination findings and diagnostic results into clear clinical assessments.
Evaluate how neurological conditions affect function, daily activities, and quality of life.
Communicate findings, diagnoses, and recommendations clearly to patients, referring clinicians, and members of the care team.

Diagnostic Testing & Interpretation:
Order appropriate neurological diagnostic testing based on each patient's clinical presentation.
Review neuroimaging studies and related diagnostic reports.
Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures within your training, credentials, privileges, and assigned responsibilities.
Explain the purpose and findings of diagnostic testing in language patients can understand.
Ensure clinically significant results are documented and communicated in a timely manner.
Coordinate additional evaluation when diagnostic findings require further investigation.

Treatment Planning & Ongoing Management:
Develop individualized treatment plans based on diagnosis, symptom burden, functional goals, and patient preferences.
Prescribe and manage medications and other appropriate therapies for neurological conditions.
Monitor treatment progress and adjust care plans as patient needs evolve.
Evaluate medication effectiveness and tolerability, including potential cognitive and behavioral effects.
Order supportive services and coordinate referrals when appropriate.
Provide consistent follow-up for patients requiring ongoing neurological management.
Maintain continuity of care throughout the patient's treatment journey.

Patient & Family Education:
Explain diagnoses, treatment options, expected outcomes, and follow-up recommendations clearly.
Help patients and caregivers understand medications, diagnostic testing, supportive services, and ongoing monitoring.
Encourage questions and informed participation in treatment decisions.
Approach sensitive or complex discussions with empathy, professionalism, and respect.
Help patients understand how neurological conditions and treatments may affect daily functioning and quality of life.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
Communicate with referring providers, community clinicians, and hospital teams when appropriate.
Provide neurological expertise for patients with overlapping neurological, spine, and pain conditions.
Support continuity of care across providers and treatment settings.
Participate constructively in clinical discussions and collaborative treatment planning.
Recognize opportunities where multidisciplinary collaboration can improve patient care.

Documentation & Professional Standards:
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical records.
Document clinical assessments, diagnostic reasoning, treatment plans, procedures, and follow-up recommendations.
Follow applicable professional standards, organizational policies, and credentialing requirements.
Protect patient confidentiality and maintain respectful communication.
Demonstrate strong organization, time management, and clinical follow-through.
Remain current with developments in neurological medicine through continuing education and professional development.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution.
Completion of an appropriate Neurology residency.
Board certification in Neurology preferred.
Board-eligible candidates are encouraged to inquire; eligibility for consideration will be confirmed for the specific opening.
Valid medical licensure for the applicable state of practice by the required start date, subject to client approval and credentialing requirements.
Relevant experience evaluating and treating neurological conditions.
Strong diagnostic reasoning and clinical judgment.
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage individualized treatment plans.
Excellent patient communication and bedside manner.
Ability to explain complex medical information clearly and compassionately.
