Nephrologist - Huntington, WV

Position Summary

The Veterans Affairs facility in Huntington, WV is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Nephrology Physician to provide comprehensive nephrology services in inpatient and outpatient settings, including care for critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage AKI, CKD, ESKD, hypertension, electrolyte and fluid disorders.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient nephrology consultations.
• Manage patients receiving Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, and other kidney replacement therapies.
• Evaluate and manage dialysis complications and vascular access-related concerns.
• Perform relevant nephrology procedures within approved clinical privileges.
• Provide care for critically ill patients requiring nephrology services.
• Participate in onsite and after-hours/on-call coverage.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Nephrology through ABIM Nephrology or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine.
• Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
• Current BLS and ACLS.
• Active DEA registration and NPI.
• Experience with inpatient, outpatient, and critically ill nephrology patients.
• Experience with Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, and kidney replacement therapies.
• Relevant nephrology procedural experience with a separate procedure list for the past two years.
• Experience with transplant nephrology, nephrolithiasis, vascular access, and dialysis complications preferred.
• Complete education and training history, including explanations for any gaps.
• Previous VA or federal healthcare experience preferred.
