Job description
We are seeking a Physician specializing in Cognitive/Behavioral Neurology to provide outpatient clinical coverage at a prestigious medical center. The provider will manage patients primarily aged 22 and older, with a focus on neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, Parkinson’s-related dementia, and cognitive impairment. This is a clinic-only role with no procedures required, emphasizing evaluation, diagnosis, and longitudinal management. The position involves working with a collaborative team, including two physicians directly and approximately 30 providers indirectly, utilizing EPIC EMR for documentation.
Job Responsibilities
• Evaluate and manage patients with cognitive disorders, dementia, memory loss, and related neurological conditions.
• Perform new patient consultations and follow-up visits within an established outpatient clinic.
• Collaborate with neurology physicians, APPs, and support staff to coordinate patient care.
• Document patient encounters and treatment plans within Epic EMR.
VOLUME | SUPPORT:
• Average daily volume includes approximately 3-4 new patient evaluations and 6-8 follow-up appointments.
• Dedicated support includes medical assistants, reception staff, front desk personnel, and shared APP support.
• Direct collaboration with two physicians and indirect support from approximately 30 additional providers.
Qualifications
• Active New Jersey medical license or ability to obtain prior to start.
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Neurology.
• Cognitive and/or Behavioral Neurology Fellowship required
• Dementia Fellowship highly preferred.
• DEA required.
• Must be comfortable treating adult and geriatric patients with cognitive and memory disorders.
Working Hours
• Outpatient clinic schedule, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Facility requires a minimum of four days per week.
• Flexible weekday scheduling available based on provider availability.
• No call responsibilities.
