Neurohospitalist – Kingsport, TN

Aya Locums is seeking a board-certified Neurohospitalist or Neurologist for locum tenens coverage in Kingsport, Tennessee.

Position Details

• Start date: November 2, 2026
• Assignment type: Locum tenens
• Coverage: 24-hour shifts, typically 7:00 a.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Some hourly shifts may also be available
• Call coverage required
• Patient population: All ages
• Patient volume: Varies
• Practice setting: Admitting and consulting
• EMR: Epic required; facility will not provide training
• EEG interpretation required, including routine and continuous EEGs at all locations
• Providers must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Coverage Schedule

• HVMC: 24-hour coverage, 8:00 a.m.–8:00 a.m.; onsite during the day with overnight call and return to the hospital if needed
• JCMC: 24-hour coverage, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 a.m.; onsite during the day with overnight call
• BRMC: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Board certified in Neurology or Neurohospitalist Medicine
• Minimum of two years of experience
• Active Tennessee medical license required for consideration and before scheduling
• Active Tennessee DEA registration required
• IMLC accepted
• Clean background and clear NPI/name verification required
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required
• No additional certifications specified

Compensation

• Orientation: $375 per hour
• Regular daily rate: $5,200 per day, inclusive of up to 12 onsite hours and overnight beeper call
• Regular callback after 12 hours: $525 per hour when called back onsite after leaving for the day
• Holiday daily rate: $7,800 per day, inclusive of up to 12 onsite hours and overnight beeper call
• Holiday callback after 12 hours: $787.50 per hour when called back onsite after leaving for the day

Additional Information

• Credentialing timeframe: Approximately 60–90 days
• Licensing assistance available for 2027 coverage
• All travel expenses are billable, including airfare, hotel, rental car, and mileage
