Job description

Job description

A four-hospital system in New Jersey is seeking two Hospital-Based Neurologists to support growing inpatient neurology volume. This is an opportunity to join a system actively expanding its neurology service line, with plans to bring additional neurology services in-house and grow long-term clinical volume.

Role Overview

  • Openings: 2 Neurologists
  • One neurologist with epilepsy experience strongly preferred (volume supports subspecialty focus)

Practice Setting

  • Hospital-based neurology
  • Primary Sites: Majority of volume out of Bayonne and Secaucus
  • Coverage across the health system as needed

Program Growth

The system is in active conversations with an established neurology group to bring services in-house. Anticipated increase in volume and additional physician partners once finalized.

Group Structure

Physicians will align with a centralized neurology group, providing centralized scheduling and hospital support.

APP Support

Open to adding a Neurology APP if physician candidates are interested in team-based support.

Schedule & Call

  • Scheduling details are still being finalized as the program is built out
  • Hospital-based coverage model with structured schedules once fully implemented

Requirements

  • MD or DO, Board Certified / Board Eligible in Neurology
  • Experience in hospital-based neurology preferred
  • Epilepsy experience strongly preferred for one of the two openings
  • Eligible for New Jersey medical licensure
  • Interest in joining a growing, system-backed neurology program

Opportunity Highlights

This is a ground-floor opportunity to help shape a growing neurology service line within a multi-hospital system. The system is investing in bringing neurology services in-house, creating long-term stability, increasing volume, and offering physicians the chance to grow alongside the program. With strong hospital support, competitive compensation, and flexibility to build out APP support, this role is ideal for neurologists seeking impact, growth, and system-level backing. The hospital has close to 20 residency programs that rotate through (not neurology) and an affiliation with NY Medical College. Starting an orthopedic residency program this summer, with lots of growth going on. Renovated hospital lobbies and expanding a lot of programs.
