Job description
The Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado is seeking an experienced Neurologist to serve as Neurology Section Chief. This physician leadership role combines clinical practice, administrative oversight, education, and strategic planning within one of the VA's premier healthcare systems.
The Section Chief will provide leadership for a comprehensive neurology service while ensuring high-quality, Veteran-centered care. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support physician and staff development, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and help advance the VA's missions of patient care, education, and research.
This position offers the opportunity to lead a growing neurology program while maintaining clinical practice in a supportive academic environment affiliated with the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
Job Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality outpatient and inpatient neurological care.
• Supervise and mentor physicians, advanced practice providers, residents, and fellows.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of clinical staff.
• Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Participate in strategic planning and service line development.
• Collaborate with primary care and specialty services to improve patient outcomes.
• Support academic, teaching, and research activities.
• Ensure compliance with VA policies, accreditation standards, and performance measures.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and Veteran-centered care.
Qualifications
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology.
• Completion of an accredited Neurology Residency Program.
• Unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory.
• Demonstrated leadership experience preferred.
• Experience in academic medicine, teaching, or research is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
