NEUROHOSPITALIST – Locum Tenens Ongoing - Missouri - Inpatient | Comprehensive Stroke Center | No Call

Position Overview

A well-established inpatient neurology program in Missouri is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Neurohospitalist to join a high-volume comprehensive stroke center. This role focuses on inpatient neurology and stroke care in a collaborative environment with strong APP support.

Schedule:

• Flexible shift structure based on patient volume
• 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM rounding shift
• Providers must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays
• No call responsibilities

Practice Setting:

• Inpatient neurology
• EMR: Epic
• Comprehensive stroke center with high stroke volume
• APP support sharing stroke activations and consults
• Approximately 10 consults per 24-hour period
• Approximately 10 stroke activations per day
  
  

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Manage inpatient neurology consults
• Stroke management including TNK and mechanical thrombectomy cases
• Only patients treated with TNK or thrombectomy are admitted to the Neurohospitalist service
• All other neurology patients admitted under Hospitalist or Intensivist with Neurohospitalist consultation
• Perform lumbar punctures and general neurology consult procedures
  
  

Ideal Candidate:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
• Comfortable in a high-volume stroke environment
• Self-motivated and efficient with strong clinical decision-making
• Experience with acute stroke management
