Locum Neurology Opportunity – McLaren Northern Michigan (Petoskey, MI)

McLaren Northern Michigan is seeking a Board-Certified Neurologist for intermittent locum coverage beginning March 2026 at its regional referral center in Petoskey, Michigan.

Practice Setting

• Hospital + outpatient clinic

• Certified Primary Stroke Center

• EMR: Cerner

• Average volume: 6–8 patients per day

• EEG reads for inpatient and outpatient as needed

• When outpatient volume is light, physician remains onsite for hospital coverage

Schedule & Coverage Dates

Coverage includes daytime onsite coverage, night call, and 24-hour weekend call when applicable.

Clinic / Onsite Hours

• 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

• Outpatient clinic appointments (within onsite shift):

  • Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

• Call coverage after hours

Call Structure

• Night call: 4:30 PM – 8:00 AM

• 24-hour weekend call when scheduled

Required Procedures

• Radiologic exam interpretation

• Lumbar puncture (spinal tap)

• EEG

• Brain death examination

• Evoked potentials

Submission Requirements (Required at Name Clear)

• Board Certified in Neurology

• Active Michigan medical license

• Active DEA

• BLS & ACLS

• NIH Stroke Scale / tPA competency preferred

• Clean malpractice history

• Availability clearly listed

Credentialing & Compliance

Immunization documentation required for Occupational Health clearance:

• Hep B (series or immune titer)

• MMR

• Varicella

• TB (within 12 months)

• Tdap (within last 10 years)

• Flu (current season)

• COVID documentation
