Job description
Physician – Neurology Needed at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, VA!!!
Eligibility
The contract physician must meet one of the following criteria:

U.S. citizen; or
-
Noncitizen national of the United States; or
-
Lawful permanent resident of the United States; or
-
Alien authorized to work in the United States, as defined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Education and Training

Successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)–approved medical residency in Neurology is required.

Equivalency Determination Requests are not permitted as a substitute for the required education for this labor category.
Board Certification
-
The Healthcare Worker (HCW) must hold current board certification in Adult Neurology by one of the following:
-
American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), or
-
American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP)

Scope of Practice and Duties
The HCW shall provide services within the scope of their professional competencies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-
Examining, diagnosing, and treating diseases and disorders of the nervous system.
-
Providing outpatient neurology services.
-
Providing inpatient neurology care.
-
Performing immediate evaluation and management of emergent neurological conditions.
-
Performing lumbar punctures.
-
Performing and interpreting nerve conduction studies (NCS) and electromyography (EMG).
-
Performing and interpreting evoked potentials and electroencephalograms (EEG).
-
Providing chemodenervation services (e.g., botulinum toxin injections) for common neurological conditions.
Job Responsibilities
