A busy Comprehensive Stroke Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma is seeking two (2) full-time Locum Tenens Neurohospitalists to provide inpatient neurology consults and call coverage. For optimal continuity of care, we strongly prefer physicians who can commit to at least one week per month on an ongoing basis.
Schedule
-
7 on / 7 off (required – must be able to work this exact schedule)

Tuesday 7:00 a.m. – Tuesday 7:00 a.m. (24-hour call shifts)
-
12 hours of daytime patient care + night call (from home after hours, with very low callback rate)
Volume & Responsibilities
-
Shared consult volume between two Neurohospitalists: 30–40 patients/day
-
Inpatient neurology consults (including stroke codes)
-
ED consults and Level II Trauma Center support
-
Read EEGs (routine and continuous)
-
Perform lumbar punctures
-
Comprehensive Stroke Center – physicians take stroke call

Neuro-ICU is separately staffed (no primary Neuro-ICU responsibility)
Requirements

MD or DO
-
Board Certified in Neurology (ABPN)
-
Active Oklahoma medical license, or IMLC compact license.

Active DEA and Oklahoma Controlled Dangerous Substances (OBNDD) registration with Oklahoma address on file
-
Proficiency in EEG interpretation

Comfortable performing lumbar punctures

Prior Neurohospitalist or stroke/neurocritical care experience strongly preferred

EPIC EMR experience (highly desired)

Dragon dictation available
