The University of South Florida (USF) Department of Neurology is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Movement Disorders Neurologist with a clinical and academic focus on Huntington’s Disease to join our faculty as an Assistant or Associate Professor. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a growing program within a vibrant academic medical center located in the heart of Tampa Bay.

Position Overview

This faculty role combines clinical care, academic teaching, and service responsibilities. The successful candidate will provide expert care to patients with Huntington’s Disease and other movement disorders, participate in educational activities for medical students, residents, and fellows, and engage in departmental initiatives that advance the mission of USF Health.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties
  • Deliver high-quality outpatient and inpatient care for patients with movement disorders.
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters.
  • Provide health counseling and participate in community and patient education initiatives.
Academic & Teaching Duties
  • Teach and mentor medical students, neurology residents, and fellows.
  • Participate in departmental seminars, case conferences, and interdisciplinary education.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and academic advising.
Service & Administrative Duties
  • Participate in departmental service, quality improvement, and other assigned responsibilities.
  • Represent the department and university in professional and academic settings.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • MD or DO from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Movement Disorders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching, academic scholarship, and clinical excellence.
  • Meets criteria for appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida medical license.
  • Experience in academic medicine and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Interest in contributing to clinical research and program development.
